What to Expect

  • The workshops open with basic information about watercolor painting: watercolor paper, taping, and different techniques. We then move into a guided painting session for about 60 minutes, with plenty of opportunity for questions throughout.

  • Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn tons from your fellow painters around the table.

  • Lizzie is an experienced watercolor artist, having painted in this medium for over a decade.

  • These workshops are welcome to anyone at any experience level. No skills needed, you just have to want to participate!

Meet your instructor

Lizzie Hanks

My art background spans a variety of mediums including watercolor, charcoal, oil, acrylic, ink, and chalk pastels. I have been watercolor painting for over a decade and have painted a wide variety of subjects in the medium.

My teaching approach focuses on process over perfection, encouraging participants of all skill levels to explore new techniques while developing their own artistic voice. Through these workshops, I aim to create a relaxed, supportive space where you can experiment, build confidence, and enjoy the creative process without pressure.

  • "As an art novice, Lizzie made me feel comfortable and confident in my abilities."

    Elena, Former Workshop Participant

  • "I am not usually any good at painting, but I enjoyed myself and created a painting I was proud of."

    Daniel, Former Workshop Participant
